January 25, 2002 in accordance with the State Program on deepening the process of denationalization and privatization "Electrokhimprom" was transformed into Open Joint Stock Company «Elektrkimyosanoat».In 2007 the company «MAXAMCORP SAU» (Spain) acquired a 49% stake in the company. In this connection, the company was renamed in OJSC "Maxam-Chirchiq".
In connection with the entry into force of the Law on joint-stock companies and protection of shareholders' rights (as amended on May 16, 2014):
On October 22, 2014 Open Joint Stock Company "Maxam-Chirchiq"
renamed to Joint Stock Company "Maxam-Chirchiq".
